This Privacy Policy describes how Savethedate.al ("Savethedate.al," "we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with the Savethedate.al website, dashboard, and public invitation pages (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy. This Policy is not a substitute for legal advice and does not create any rights enforceable beyond what applicable law requires.

1. Information We Collect

Account information: name, email address, birthdate, and a hashed password or passkey/social-login credential when you register.
Invitation content: the details you add to an invitation, such as event information, photos, background music, and any custom fields you configure.
Guest information: names, RSVP responses, contact details, and any optional fields guests submit when responding to your invitation.
Communications: messages you send us, such as through the contact form, including your name, email address, and message content.
Usage and device data: technical information such as IP address, browser type, device identifiers, and pages visited, collected automatically to operate and secure the Service.
Cookies and similar technologies: as described in Section 5 below.

We collect this information directly from you, automatically as you use the Service, and, where applicable, from third-party sign-in providers as described in Section 6.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information described above to:

Provide, operate, and maintain the Service, including rendering invitations and recording RSVPs;
Create and manage your account, including authenticating you via password, passkey, or a third-party sign-in provider;
Communicate with you about your account, transactional matters, and service notices;
Respond to inquiries submitted through the contact form;
Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents;
Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service;
Analyze aggregate, non-identifying usage trends to maintain and improve the Service.

We do not use your account or guest information for third-party advertising, and we do not sell your personal information.

3. Guest Information You Submit

If you create an invitation, you (not Savethedate.al) determine what information is collected from your guests and how it is used. As between you and Savethedate.al, you act as the data controller for guest information, and you are responsible for ensuring you have a lawful basis to collect it and for complying with applicable privacy laws with respect to your guests. Savethedate.al processes guest information solely as necessary to operate the Service on your behalf, in accordance with our Terms of Service.

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in the following circumstances:

With your guests, by design — your invitation and its RSVP form are shared with the people you choose to invite;
With service providers who perform functions on our behalf, such as hosting, email delivery, and bot/spam protection, under obligations of confidentiality and only to the extent necessary to provide the Service;
With third-party sign-in providers (e.g., Google, Apple, Facebook, or Instagram) to the extent necessary to authenticate you, if you choose to use one of these options;
In connection with a business transaction, such as a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, in which personal information may be transferred as a business asset;
To comply with law, including in response to a valid subpoena, court order, or other legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Savethedate.al, our users, or the public; and
With your consent, or as otherwise disclosed to you at the time information is collected.

5. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to maintain your session, remember your preferences (such as your selected language), and understand how the Service is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling cookies may limit your ability to use certain features of the Service, including staying signed in.

6. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with third-party providers, including sign-in providers (Google, Apple, Facebook, Instagram), automated abuse-prevention services (such as Google reCAPTCHA), and infrastructure providers (such as hosting, email delivery, and cloud storage). These third parties process information subject to their own privacy policies and terms, over which Savethedate.al has no control. We encourage you to review those providers' policies before using their services through Savethedate.al.

7. Data Retention

We retain account and invitation data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete an invitation or your account, we will delete or anonymize the associated data within a reasonable period, except where we are required or permitted to retain it for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or legitimate business purposes.

8. Data Security

We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure, including encrypted connections and hashed credentials. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot and do not guarantee the absolute security of any information. You provide information at your own risk, and to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Savethedate.al disclaims all liability arising from unauthorized access to, or loss, misuse, or alteration of, information.

9. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal information, or to receive a copy of it in a portable format. You can update or delete much of your account information directly from your account settings, or contact us using the details in Section 13 to make a request. We may need to verify your identity before responding, and we may decline requests that are unfounded, excessive, or that we are not required to fulfill under applicable law.

10. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in countries other than your own, which may have data protection laws that differ from those of your jurisdiction. By using the Service, you acknowledge and agree to this transfer, storage, and processing of your information.

11. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to, and is not intended for use by, children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time in our sole discretion. We will update the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide reasonable notice. Your continued use of the Service after any changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Policy.
